Al Mazrouei pointed out that this agreement comes to elevate the efficiency of environmental services to highlight the Hamriyah Free Zone as the first green free zone in the country and promote its name as a hub for waste management and recycling.

The agreement states that solid and liquid waste collection services will be provided in the first and second stages including public utilities as Bee'ah will set up a special office in the Hamriyah Free Zone for direct coordination with the Environmental Health and Safety Department at the Authority concerning the waste management and collection in the zone. Environmental regulations and rules applicable in the Hamriyah Free Zone will be further developed to utilize the collected waste in producing alternative energy. Training courses will be conducted for the staff of the Environmental Health and Safety Department as well as the Maintenance and Investors Department as per work requirements. A joint team between the Authority and Bee'ah will be formed to monitor the working mechanism of the waste management and resolve any difficulties that may face investors in addition to digitalization of environmental services provided in the zone.

For his part, Al Huraimel added “This agreement comes in support of our endeavors aiming to promote the position of Sharjah as the environmental capital of the Middle East and fulfills the vision of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, member of the Federal Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah which aims at providing a healthy and sustainable environment to the residents of the emirate and future generations. It will provide comprehensive and integrated services to Hamriyah Free Zone by Bee'ah as well as enable us at the same time to further our partnership with various free and industrial zones in the Emirate of Sharjah.
